World champion in WBC, WBO and WBA lightweight versions Vasyl Lomachenko is included in the list of applicants for the title of best boxer in 2019 according to the World Boxing Council (WBC). This is reported by UNIAN, referring to the Ppresident of the organization Mauricio Suleiman on Instagram.
Last year, Lomachenko spent two fights - in April and August. First, a Ukrainian knocked out defeated Briton Anthony Kroll, defending the WBA and WBO titles. Then Lomachenko managed to defeat another Briton Luke Campbell by the decision of the judges and took possession of the WBC belt.
Saul Alvarez, Errol Spence, Deontay Wilder, Jose Carlos Ramirez and Josh Taylor will also be eligible for the award.
