As the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan has noted, Kyiv is the first city in Europe where Uber Shuttle project is being implemented.

At the same time, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klytschko said that Uber Shuttle does not belong to public transport, it is only an additional service. "This is not a private bus called ‘marshrutka’, it's a big taxi, which is cheaper than an ordinary taxi. This is an empty segment between ‘marshrutkas’ and taxis," Klytschko said.

He emphasized that Uber Shuttle cars are of high quality and security, and licensed. "By August Uber plans to provide 50 such cars," he added.

Uber officials emphasized that this project will use transport that meets European standards of safety, comfort and environmental friendliness. They stressed that they would act as partners in public transport.
