A Bike Day 2019 in Kyiv

On June 1, a Bike Day will take place in Kyiv, and traffic will be banned on several streets in the center of Ukraine’s capital in that regard, according to segodnya.ua. During the bike ride from 8:00 to 13:00, traffic on the route of cyclists will be banned.

 

A group of cyclists will travel along the following route: Sofiyska Square - Volodymyrsky Passage - Mykhailivska Square - Velyka Zhytomyrska Street - Lvivska Square - Yaroslaviv Val Street - Volodymyrska Street - Sofiyska Square - Volodymyrska Square - Mykhailivska Street - Maidan Nezalezhnosti - Kreschatik Street - Volodymyrsky Descent - Poshtova Square - Naberezhno-Khreshchatytska Street - Havansky Bridge - Naberezhno-Rybalska Street - Pivnichny Bridge - Trukhanivska Street - Muromets Park.

 

It should be noted that within the framework of the Bike Day, thousands of people, regardless of the age and style of riding, pass through the central streets of cities and towns of Ukraine in order to draw attention to a healthy and active lifestyle and cooperation with drivers on the roads.

 

The campaign demonstrates the need to create a quality bicycle infrastructure and safe conditions for cyclists on the streets of our cities.

 

On May 19, a Bike Day 2019 was held in Kharkiv. About 12,000 people took part in the cycle parade, having divided into 40 teams.
