The National Day of Sweden will be celebrated in Kyiv’s Shevchenko Park on June 8, according to Vechirniy Kyiv.
The event’s program includes an interactive lecture area, an open-air cinema with a Swedish film program, a yoga lesson in the park, a master class with a floorball, and traditional Swedish desserts. The highlight of the event is a concert of the Swedish folk band. Ulrika Gunnarsson and Jonas Exerlund have been playing together for almost 15 years. The starting point of the duo was songs from the Smoland region of Sweden, which became important elements of their musical identity. Ulrich grew up with folk music in the region of Smoland, and Jonas has lived in this area for a long time and took up a great local repertoire.
If you are traveling to Kyiv with kids, this event is worth a visit. Pippi Longstocking will make kids laugh. The event will also include a children's film program, the Swedish game Kubbspel, face-art, colorful paint master class, showers of soap bubbles, reading and interactive game based on the book "It was done by her", presentation-game about reforms, and an interactive Swedish language lesson for children. The organizers promise many interactive zones, games, quizzes and gifts.
