Ukrainian film "Hutsulka Ksenia" has received the main award of the film festival in Japan

The romantic musical comedy by director Elena Demyanenko "Hutsulka Xenia" won the Grand Prix of the Mt.FUJI-ATAMI FILM FESTIVAL (Japan) Film Festival and will be released in the Japan soon. This is reported by the State Agency of Ukraine for Movie on his Facebook page.

 

"It's great that the first of the newest cinema history, the Ukrainian musical, created with the support of the state, has received international recognition," said Chairman of the State Agency of Ukraine for Movie Philippe Ilyenko.

The festival took place from 28 June to 1 July in the resort town of Atami, which has the status of "Japanese Hollywood". More than 1200 films from around the world were sent to the selection committee this year. Five films were selected for the game cinema program together with "Hutsulka Ksenia". The main prize of the Atami Film Festival-2019 was presented to the director by the Japanese movie star Kaori Momoi.

 

The film "Hutsulka Ksenia" was created on the grounds of the work of the same name, written by the founder of modern Ukrainian operetta Yaroslav Barnich, whose works have been banned in Ukraine for a long time. In the movie Barbara Lushchyk (Ukraine), Maxim Lozinsky (USA), Olivier Bonzhur (Belgium), Igor Tsishkevich (USA), Oleg Stefan (Ukraine), Ekaterina Molchanova (Ukraine) acted.

 

According to the plot, from America a group of Americans arrive in Vorokhta with an important mission, namely to find a bride for a young Yaro. The young man's father left a will, according to which Yaro will inherit a million dollars if he marries a conscious Ukrainian woman.
