Ivan Kupala Day at Pyrohiv museum

What to see and do in Kyiv? Why not go Pyrohiv museum, one of the biggest open air museums in Europe? On July 6, the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine, known as Pyrohiv or Pirogovo, invites everyone to dip into the mystical atmosphere and the world of Ukrainian folk traditions!

This year's program will include the introduction with the main characters of the holiday, Kupala and Marena, master classes on wreaths' making and traditional round dances.

P.S. Traditionally, from July 6 to July 7, Ukraine celebrates the magic folk festival of Ivan Kupala. Traditions and activities connected with this holiday dated back to Pagan rituals. Its name was originally Kupala. After the adaption by Orthodox Christianity, it got the word "Ivan" (John, here John the Baptist).
