Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra has got a new name from UNESCO

The correct name of Ukraine’s capital has been fixed in the document of UNESCO, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The session to the Committee on All European Sponsorship UNESCO has agreed on the English name of Ukrainian historical building inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Now it is called «Kyiv: Saint-Sophia Cathedral and Related Monastic Buildings, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra». The changes of names were done in accordance with the Resolution X/9 of the United Nations Conference on Standardized Geographical Names “Romanization of Ukrainian geographical names”.
