On July 27 and 28 a spectacular entertainment show for the Day of Baptism of Kievan Rus, the day of St. Princess Volodymyr, will traditionally take place at the Ancient Kyiv, the Principality of Kyivan Rus ("Kyivan Rus Park"), according to Vechirniy.Kyiv. The program includes horse-trick performances, theatricalization of historical events, night fire program, ancient Slavic fun, horse show, master classes, horseback riding and much more from the life of Kyivan Rus.
It is very symbolic to visit Ancient Kyiv on the day of Baptism of Rus. After all, only here you can not only plunge into the atmosphere of the living Middle Ages, but also with your own eyes to see theatrical reconstruction as Prince Vladimir chose faith and baptized Rus, as well as other events that determined the development of our state for many centuries ahead. The program will open at 14:00 with costume parade of historical personalities, who played a key role in the history of Kyivan Rus. All people will be able to join the procession to the Vasylivska church, where they pray for Ukraine. By the way, this unique wooden church of the 10th century is the first recreated Christian temple that was built in Kyiv after the Baptism of Rus.
The culmination of the program will be firing with burning kernels from the trebuchet, the only operating siege weapon in Ukraine. The uniqueness of the program is that the guests of the park can not only observe the action, but also join the celebration, taking part in fun contests, dance flash mobs, round dances and master classes.
