The festival is dedicated to the revival and dissemination of the ancient historical tradition of Ukraine. During the event, you will hear the masterpieces of world classics from the “Rozumovsky Music Collection”, including the works by Vivaldi, Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, Chopin, Gershwin and others.

The annual art festival of classics and jazz “Night Serenades” was founded by the famous Ukrainian pianist Evgeny Basalaev to revive the long-standing traditions of Kyiv evening musical aristocratic performances in the Mariinsky Park. Such annual August concerts took place in the late 1970s-1980s under the guidance of an outstanding musician, the legendary violinist Bohodar Kotorovych. The stage “Shell” gathered the best musicians of Ukraine, famous performers from abroad, world-class artists. The last concert of “Night Serenades” was held on August 28, 1988 with the participation of Bohodar Kotorovych (violin), Evhenia Basalaeva (piano, harpsichord), and the ensemble “Kyiv Soloists”.

The uniqueness of this festival lies in the vivid combination of aristocratic classics and jazz on one stage in order to popularize the rich variety of Ukrainian and world academic and jazz music, enriching the world's cultural achievements and traditions.
