Dovzhenko Center opens the Museum of Cinema

Today, September 12, as part of the celebration of Ukrainian Cinema Day and the 25th anniversary of the Dovzhenko Center, the Cinema Museum will be opened in Kyiv. The premiere exhibition “VUFKU. Lost & Found ”and a parallel program will reveal the international success story of the All-Ukrainian Film Management, a state organization that in the 1920s formed a successful Ukrainian film industry. The multimedia exposition in the restored premises of the Dovzhenko Center with an area of 1,500 square meters will present exhibits from leading Ukrainian museums and unprecedented treasures from the collection of the Dovzhenko Center. Rare frames of films, newsreels and animations, unique archival documents and photographs that will take the viewer into the atmosphere of the turbulent 1920s, will be shown. The project combined the old and modern literature, music, design and visual art.
