The Wall Street Journal has joined the campaign "KyivNotKiev"

The Wall Street Journal has joined the Associated Press and Webster's New World College Dictionary in using the spelling Kyiv for Ukraine's capital instead of Kiev. This is reported by CorrectUA campaign on Facebook. However, a popular Ukrainian dish Chicken Kiev is an exception. And the old spelling will be left there.

Kyiv

In Autumn 2018, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a campaign on social media to persuade international media and organizations to use the Ukrainian transliteration “Kyiv” for Ukraine’s capital name instead of the traditional English spelling “Kiev”, which comes from the Russian way of pronouncing Ukraine’s capital name.
