Do Ukrainians speak English? According to the results of the 9th edition of the English proficiency index (EPI) conducted by EF Education First (EF), Ukraine ranks 49th among the 100 countries and territories surveyed on general English skills. The English-language proficiency of Ukraine fell compared to the previous year, when Ukraine was ranked 43d among the 88 listed countries and territories.
The EF English Proficiency Index is a global ranking based on a survey of 2.3 million adults in 100 countries. This year, the Netherlands came first in the survey. Nordic countries again came out on top in the English language ranking: the Netherlands was followed by Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan and Libya occupied the bottom of the ranking.
