Open Paderewski festival was opened in Lviv

Are you a fan of classical music? The 8th International Festival "Open Paderewski" is held in Lviv on November 8-11. The organizer of this annual event is the Polish-Ukrainian Foundation of Ignacy Jan Paderewski. This is reported by the Department of Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Classical music

The festival is dedicated to the figure of a prominent Polish pianist, composer, politician and public figure, Ignatius Jan Paderewski (1860-1941). It was in Lviv that he, as a pianist, gave his first concerts in 1887 and 1889, and after a triumphal tour with the world, in June 1902, his performance on the stage of the Skarbkivsky Theater was sold out. After 8 years, in 1910, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of F. Chopin's birth, Ignatius Jan Paderewski was met in Lviv as the true successor of the outstanding Polish romantic. It was in this city that the premieres of his compositions took place, including the famous Polonia Symphony, as well as the opera Manra, which, like a hundred years from now, has toured the world from Lviv since 2018.
