Film about Ukrainians in Hollywood was presented in Kyiv

The national premiere of the full-length documentary "From Ukraine to Hollywood" took place in the capital. This is the first large-scale study of the "Ukrainian track" in Hollywood. It is a little-known story about the significant contribution of Ukrainians not only to the movie history of the famous "Dream Factory," but also to their extraordinary influence on the development of American art. The film is conditionally divided into the following parts: "Dream", "Path", "Hollywood", "Recognition", "Ukraine". This is reported by Vechirniy.Kyiv.

To Hollywood from Ukraine

The film's main characters are those who, from the beginning, for decades, made up the glory, history and present day of the American Dream Factory. It will be about producers, directors, artists, omposers, special effects masters, and, of course, actors - all those who left Ukraine. Separate sections will also be dedicated to those who have already been born in the US in Ukrainian immigrant families. In addition to actresses Milla Jovovich from Kyiv and Olha Kurylenko from Berdyansk, Sylvester Sallone and Leonardo DiCaprio with Odessa roots, there are many other prominent personalities. For example, one of the founders of the legendary Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio was Louis Bart Mayer. His real name is Lazar Mayer, he was born in Dymer near Kyiv. It was he who founded the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The film also tells about the fate of such people as actors Alla Nazimova (theatrical actress Adelaide Leventon from Yalta), Paul Mooney (Lviv's Meshil Weisenfrond), Kyiv's Anna Sten (Fesak), Natalie Wood (Natasha Zakharchenko, originally from Kharkiv) Oscar-winning actor Jack Pelance (Volodymyr Palagnyuk, whose father is originally from Ternopil region and his mother is from Lviv), young actress Ivanna Sakhno. And also director Vadym Perelman from Kyiv, the owner of two engineering and technical "Oscars" Anatoly Kokush.

The film's directors are Halyna Kuvivchak-Sakhno and Stanislav Suknenko, who is the author of the script. The producers were Oleg Shcherbyna and Yulia Chernyavska. The filming took place in Ukraine and the USA.
