This week in the Chernobyl exclusion zone a herd of Przewalski's horses was noticed. This was reported by the Chairman of the Association of Chornobyl tour operators Yaroslav Emelianenko on his Facebook. Scientists say that in the Chornobyl zone in recent years, wildlife has been gradually restored. In particular, the number of Przewalski's horses that were brought there in the nineties is growing.
Przewalski's horses, as a subspecies of wild horses, exterminated in the natural environment in the XX century. However, it was preserved in zoos, and the herds were acclimatized in the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
