Epiphany Holiday in Ancient Kyiv

On the Feast of Epiphany, January 18 and 19, everyone is invited to the Principality of Kyivan Rus to participate in the ancient Slavic traditions of celebration. Guests will see a dramatized performance on Jordan, which tells the biblical story of John the Baptist's life. The program will include the traditional Christmas Nativity scene, still relevant until the end of the January holiday cycle.

And also the theater of Ancient Kyiv will present to the guests an interesting fairy tale based on Gogol's "Evenings on a Farm near Dykanka", an instructive and fun at the same time, which will have a lot of music and special effects the beginning of the theatrical program at 13:30. 

 

These days, after the grand opening of the program, guests will be invited to join in the procession, led by John the Baptist, at St. Basil's Church and St. Andrew's Well. On Sunday, January 19, a celebrated worship service dedicated to the Baptism of the Lord will be held in the rebuilt authentic church of the tenth century. Then, in the center of the Child of Ancient Kyiv, everyone will be able to sprinkle themselves with holy water from the source of St. Andrew.
