Ukrainian filmmaker won the Sundance Film Festival award

The Ukrainian documentary filmmaker Iryna Tsilyk won the Sundance Film Festival prize for Best Documentary Directing. The Ukrainian won the award for the movie "The Earth is Blue as an Orange." This is reported by Hromadske

The name for the movie was chosen by a quote from the French poet Paul Eluard. "To cope with the daily traumas of life in a war zone, single mother Anna and her four children together make a movie about their lives in the most surreal environment," the film's official website reads. The film's world premiere took place during the film festival.


Sundance Film Festival is the national American Independent Film Festival. In 2020, it took place from January 23 to February 2.
