Kyiv has risen 22 positions in the ranking of cities in the world in terms of cost of living, which is prepared by the Economist Intelligence Unit, the analytical division of the Economist Group. The cost of living in Istanbul, Boston, Moscow and Bangkok has also risen markedly. This is reported by UNIAN.
The cost of living was estimated in 133 cities around the world. Researchers study prices in supermarkets, mid-priced stores and specialized retail outlets with higher prices. For each city, data is collected on the value of more than 160 goods and services. The first place in the ranking of the most expensive cities in the world this year was shared by three cities at once - Paris (France), Hong Kong (a special administrative region of China) and Singapore (Singapore).
