This holiday is dedicated to the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist in the Jordan River when he was 30 years old. The blessing of water is the main tradition of the Baptism of the Lord. At Baptism, in all churches water is blessed. This water is taken home by Ukrainians that go to church in the morning. This water can be drunk, and so that misfortunes bypass the family, Jordanian water is sprayed on the house and household. People store it, as a rule, for a year, considering that for the whole year it has miraculous abilities. Another tradition of Epiphany is bathing in the reservoirs that had been consecrated by the priest before.
